Diagnosis and Treatment Issues in Adult ADHD
A patient with ADHD requires a multifactorial assessment for an appropriate diagnosis as well as a highly individualized treatment plan that may include a stimulant or nonstimulant compound. Each regimen must be based on a process of initiation, titration, and monitoring of the patient for safety and efficacy. This is of particular concern during the management of adolescents and adults. This CME activity is intended to help overcome existing barriers to effective treatment as a means to improve patient outcomes.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Comorbid Conditions in Adults: Case Studies in Diagnosis and Treatment
ADHD in adults is a relatively recently recognized psychiatric disorder that affects up to 5.0% of the U.S. adult population. The clinical interview remains the basis of the adult ADHD diagnosis. An individualized treatment plan is the hallmark of therapy for adult ADHD, which is complicated by a high rate of comorbid psychiatric conditions requiring evaluation and treatment. Thomas Spencer, MD provides an in-depth opportunity to learn about current and emerging data on the diagnosis, quality of life impact, and management of ADHD and related psychiatric comorbid conditions in adults, with the aim of improving patient outcomes.
